Welcoming the New Year

There’s vanilla ice cream cooling down in the freezer, and a strawberry frangiapane tart letting off steam on the rack. We’re catching up with friends tonight for a celebration of New Year’s Eve 2011.  I still have to marinate my chicken for shish tawook but I need a moment to rest. Happy new year dear reader. I thought I’d get it in early before I drink too much and my speech starts t to slur 😛

  • I have a feeling that tart didn’t last long before it made someone very happy!

I like the new look and colours of the blog! Nicely done.

Happy New Year to you and your family! 🙂

  • Best wishes for 2011—may it be a joyful, prosperous year full of adventure and laughter and love!

The sumptuously sticky-looking glaze on that tart makes it look even more decadent!

  • Happy New Year to you and your family! Drinking is usually the order for New Years Eve, as long as we enjoy the fireworks first. Speaking of which, your frangiapane tart looks like a delightful, fresh firework sensation for the tongue. Bring on the New Year, enriched with good fortune and fabulous prospects. 😀

  • Happy new year Fouad! That is such a well-composed photograph – love the effect you have going on with the paper in the background. I’m a HUGE fan of fruity tarty desserts – even more so than chocolatey ones – they’re so perfect for a more subtle end to a heavy dinner, and even great first thing in the morning with coffee. This one has definitely unleashed my craving for something sweet right now!
